Whistle up some luck with this intriguing duo! A sturdy little sterling silver antique whistle from the Edwardian era, gently rounded and beautiful to hold, together with a silver horseshoe.
The whistle is working perfectly (and loudly!) with the gentlest blow, delightful to handle and with beautiful patina, this lovely historical pair was found together and they look wonderful on a long necklace chain.

Sterling silver with a set of English hallmarks for the City of Birmingham, England and the year 1905. The worn maker's mark 'J.H&C' is also present - this is the mark of the renowned whistle makers J Hudson & Co.
Sterling silver, with a worn stamp 'STERLING' and a patent mark.
Sizes: The whistle measures 14mm wide at the top and 26mm long (.55 x 1 inches). The horseshoe is 23 25mm in size.
The drop from the chain including the fob clip is 53mm
Weight: 7.3grams (without the necklace chain & clip) 13.6 grams total.
Age: 1905 (114 years of age)
The medal is presented on a new sterling silver chain and sterling fob clip, both stamped for 925 silver. The good quality chain is 30 inches or 76cm long - a versatile chain that can be used with other pendants. Medal and chain are shown on a life size torso in image #3.
Condition: Very, very good. Mild surface wear as can be seen in the images, everything is in great order and the whistle works perfectly. Lovely patina throughout.
A gorgeous whistle & horseshoe - loud with a bright, piercing sound and will emit a whistle with the slightest breath. Call a cab, call the kids, round up the dog - perfect!
