A elegant oval Sterling Silver brooch from the Edwardian era; the pin is simple and very, very beautiful with all emphasis on the rich teal blue of inset stone. The perfect 'Something Old' or 'Something Blue' pinned to a wedding bouquet.
+ All the details
Unmarked sterling silver, tested and guaranteed as such. The back has a simple spiral C-clasp.
Despite lots of research, the stone is a mystery to me. Carved into shape with a bevelled edge, it is a rich teal blue in color and appears more marbled than agate. (All identification suggestions from stone experts gratefully received). Though in the style of a Ruskin brooch, this is not pottery.
Size: 18 x 32mm or .7 x 1.25 inches and approximately 5mm in thickness. Shown on a life size torso in image #3.
Weight: 4.1 grams.
Age: very early 1900s
Excellent. No issues to report. No chips to the stone, nice patina to the silver, the pin is very sharp and the brooch pins securely.
The perfect pin for a wedding bouquet or simply beautiful to add a pop of color to an outfit. Tasteful and lovely.
