Edwardian Crescent Brooch | Graduated Seed Pearl Crescent Pin | English Hallmarked 9ct Gold Antique Brooch & Safety Chain - Real Pearls

A simple and lovely crescent brooch from the Edwardian era, the piece features graduated seed pearls individually peg set into nine carat yellow gold. Beautiful on a lapel or lovely as a bridal gift.

+ All the Details

The brooch has full English hallmarks for 9 carat gold, the assay office of Chester and the year 1904. The worn maker's mark 'T&C' is also visible. The silver metal fastening pin has a simple c-clasp and a removable safety chain clips into place with a tiny gold dog clip.

The natural seed pearls cover a divine range of color from cream, through soft greys - the darkest is a purplish charcoal.

Brooch Size:
2.4cm or slightly under 1 inch in diameter. The brooch and safety chain are shown on a life size torso in image #3.

The central pearl measures 2mm diameter and the pearls graduate down from there - the smallest is a teensy .4mm

Weight: 2.6 gms

Age: 1904 - 112 years of age.

Excellent. The clasp and hinge are good and strong, not fragile, the pin smooth and sharp. No issues at all; this is a well made piece.

Janne's Notes
An Edwardian Beauty. Crescent moons in antique jewelry often represented spirituality and the glorification of the Feminine Moon Goddess - how very lovely!
