An exquisite Art Nouveau sterling silver cameo brooch from the very early 1900s featuring an elegant classic profile, very Grecian in style.

The brooch has been expertly designed and made by the renowned Japanese silversmith Miyamoto Shoko of Tokyo.

Miyamoto was a high class manufacturer and retailer who held the distinction of suppliers to the Imperial household, a rare privilege at that time.

Satin finish repoussé sterling silver with the Japanese silver hallmark for Myamoto Shoko, this style of stamp was primarily used during the Meiji period (1868-1912).

*** The brooch convertible to use as either a brooch or pendant with a bail that is hinged and folds under when used as a brooch. The brass clasp on the back has an early version of security clasp.

NOTE: While shown with a chain to demonstrate the folding bail, a chain is not included with the brooch.

An elongated oval 1.1 x 1.5 inches or 28 x 39mm and the rim of the oval is just under 2mm wide.

Weight: 12.4 grams without chain.

Age: very early 1900s

Condition: Excellent. No issues to report and the deep natural patina is very beautiful.
